A method and device for analyzing the nonlinear seismic response history of an urban building group. The method comprises: acquiring building data (S101); obtaining, according to the building data, a model corresponding to the building data (S102); establishing, according to the model corresponding to the building data, a multi-particle shear series model or a multi-particle parallel shear bending coordination model corresponding to the building data (S103); performing, according to ground motion acceleration time history data input by each building, nonlinear history calculation by means of the multi-particle shear series model or the multi-particle parallel shear bending coordination model so as to obtain a nonlinear history calculation result (S104); obtaining the earthquake damage state and analysis result of each floor of each building according to the nonlinear history calculation result (S105). According to the method, the characteristics of the earthquake damage of buildings at different heights can be accurately reflected and are closer to those of actual earthquake damage; the calculation efficiency is high and the modeling method is simple; the method can be used for predicting and analyzing the earthquake damage of urban typical earthquake scenes accurately and in a timely manner.
