The invention relates to a method for determining whether it is necessary to intervene in a supply network (1). The method according to the invention comprises: capturing (S1) first sensor data, which indicate properties of the supply network (1) during a first time span (P₁); calibrating (S2) a simulation model (20) for the supply network (1) based on the first sensor data; simulating (S3) the supply network (1) on the basis of the simulation model (20) calibrated by means of the first sensor data for determining simulated data; capturing (S4) second sensor data, which indicate properties of the supply network (1) during a second time span (P₂) occurring after the first time span (P₁); evaluating (S5) the simulated data in consideration of the second sensor data; and determining (S6) whether it is necessary to intervene in the supply network (1) as a function of a result of the evaluation. According to the invention, an intervention in a supply network, in particular a rehabilitation intervention, can occur in a timely manner in order to prevent major supply disruptions.
