A power source unit for an inhalation component generation device has: a power source; a first resistor connected to the power source; a second resistor connected in series to the first resistor; a connection unit that can electrically connect to an external unit, said connection unit having a first electric terminal electrically connected to a first node between the first resistor and the second resistor, and a second electric terminal electrically connected to a second node on the side opposite to the first node relative to the first resistor; a first opening-closing device that is electrically connected to the first node and that forms an electric route electrically parallel to the second resistor; and a detection unit that detects the connection of the external unit to a connection unit on the basis of the amount that the voltage decreases in the second resistor. The first opening-closing device is held in an open state when the external unit is not connected to the connection unit. The first opening-closing device has a parasitic diode in which current output from the power source flows, through the first node, in the opposite direction when the external unit is not connected to the connection unit. The electric resistance of the second resistor is smaller than the electric resistance of the first resistor.
