Disclosed is a specific recognition and detection method for ribonucleic acid using a boronic acid modified nanoparticle system, in the field of nucleic acid detection. Surfaces of gold nanoparticles and silver nanoparticles are modified, by means of thiol self-assembly, with a phenylboronic acid molecule containing a sulfhydryl group, forming a PBA-NP system. The PBA-NP system is capable of efficiently binding to RNA and performing signal labeling and amplification. The greatest advantage of PBA-NPs is their ability to selectively distinguish between RNA and DNA having the same base sequence, and the system can be combined with a variety of nucleic acid detection techniques to achieve specific detection of specified RNA sequences.
