This history information storage device comprises: a storage unit for storing history information relating to the travel history of a vehicle and map data divided into a plurality of sections; a variation detection unit for detecting a change in the map data; an area-of-influence determination unit for identifying, as affected sections, sections from among the plurality of sections that are affected by the change; a history information control unit for temporarily disabling the history information for the affected sections; and a navigation unit for calculating a route from a point of departure to a destination so as to take the history information into account and recording, in the history information, the history of vehicle travel deviating from the route.
