System and method for software testing and monitoring at a plurality of mobile devices for ensuring compatibility with a diverse set of mobile device configurations with software tests, wherein a mobile device configuration is a set of mobile device characteristics, wherein each software test requires a specific set of mobile device characteristics, wherein said plurality of mobile devices are separated into a plurality of mobile device test sets, each said mobile device test set being able to come and leave online availability for testing, said system comprising: a test deployment and scheduling node; a plurality of test set handler nodes connected to the test deployment and scheduling node, each handler node for handling and connecting to one, and only one, mobile device test set; the test deployment and scheduling node being configured for, through the handler nodes: register a mobile device test set when said mobile device test set comes into availability; unregister said mobile device test set when the mobile device test set leaves availability; probabilistically schedule the software tests according to present and past online availability of each mobile device characteristic, and according to the sets of mobile device characteristics required by the software tests; deploy the software tests as scheduled and as the mobile device test sets are available.
