Provided is an optically anisotropic body having a liquid crystal cured layer which is formed of a cured product of a liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystalline compound exhibiting reverse wavelength dispersive birefringence, and contains molecules of the liquid crystalline compound which may have a fixed alignment state, wherein the birefringence of the liquid crystalline compound at a measurement wavelength of 590 nm is 0.065 or less, at least a portion of the molecules of the liquid crystalline compound contained in the liquid crystal cured layer are inclined with respect to the layer plane of the liquid crystal cured layer, and the in-plane retardation of the liquid crystal cured layer at a measurement wavelength of 590 nm is 80-190 nm.
