The embodiments of the present application provide a video-based interactive discussion method and apparatus, and a terminal device. Said method comprises: parsing user historical behaviors on the basis of a relationship algorithm, to acquire follower relationship information of the video and discussion topic information; establishing, according to the follower relationship information of the video and the discussion topic information, a follower user discussion community based on the discussion topic; enabling a user selecting the follower user discussion community to publish discussion opinions on the basis of the follower user discussion community. On the basis of the embodiments of the present application, video discussions can be provided in a follower user discussion community concerning a video, the rate of utilization of user discussions and user viscosity can be improved, and loyalty and a sense of community of users participating in video discussions can be enhanced.
