Disclosed is a multimodal synchronous phasor-based power system oscillation tracing method and system. The system comprises: multiple multimodal phasor measurement units used for extracting all oscillation modes of a bus voltage and currents of all phases of a line, obtaining corresponding phasors, obtaining positive, negative and zero-sequence phasors in each oscillation mode and corresponding complex power, and marking a synchronous time scale to obtain phasor data; a multimodal phasor concentrator used for communicating with the multiple multimodal phasor measurement units and storing the phasor data; and a multimodal oscillation wide area monitoring/analysis and tracing platform used for receiving the phasor data transmitted by the multimodal phasor concentrator, and performing resynchronization on the phasor data according to the time scale, so as to store the phasor data in a real-time or historical database to implement multimodal tracing. The system can implement accurate power system multimodal oscillation tracing, the physical meaning is clear, and online execution is easy and simple to implement.
