Provided by the present application are a color gamut mapping method and device, the method comprising: obtaining an image to be processed; obtaining brightness and chroma information of a target color gamut; mapping brightness and chroma values of pixels in the image to be processed to obtain a processed image corresponding to the target color gamut, the pixels of the processed image having mapped brightness values and mapped chroma values, wherein the mapped brightness values and the mapped chroma values are obtained by mapping the brightness and chroma values of the pixels in the image to be processed to the target color gamut using the point having the lowest brightness value in the color gamut as the mapping end point. The method for color gamut mapping provided by the present application may reduce the computational complexity of color gamut mapping, ensure the quality of an image after a source image is mapped to the target color gamut, prevent the blurring of the details of the image mapped to the target, render the image after color gamut mapping closer to the source image, and improve the user experience.
