Disclosed is a lithology recognition method for volcanic rock based on fractal dimensions of electrical imaging logging. The method primarily includes five parts: importing imaging logging data of a cored interval; logging data filtering and signal enhancement; threshold segmentation and skeleton information extraction; determining a fractal dimension range of different types of lithology and calculating a fractal dimension of an uncored interval; and importing imaging logging data of an uncored interval and calculating a fractal dimension for lithology recognition. According to the present invention, the processing of data of electrical image logging, the calculation of fractal dimensions, etc., can realize the automatic recognition of the lithology of an uncored interval, overcome, to some extent, the uncertainty brought about by traditional observation with naked eyes, and improve the precision and speed of lithology recognition. Furthermore, the present invention can also bring about new concepts for logging recognition of other types of rock.
