One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for preventing spontaneous ignition in a coal yard comprising a step of applying a high calorific value auxiliary fuel on a coal pile to form a layer, wherein the high calorific value auxiliary fuel is a fuel whose calorific value exceeds 5700 kcal/kg. Thus, the present can not only prevent spontaneous ignition in the coal yard, but also greatly enhance the heat-assisting effect, and can realize an excellent heat insulation effect for low carbon after being applied to the coal yard. The present invention can provide a method for preventing spontaneous ignition in an indoor coal yard which is excellent in storage stability and in which the coal can be stored outside for a long period of time, prevents loss of heat of fuel, enhances combustion efficiency, and reduces environmental pollution.
