The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for analyzing chemical oxygen demand (CODCr) using potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) as an oxidizing agent. Particularly, a coil reactor (10) comprising a coil-shaped tube (12) which surrounds a heat wire (11) is provided to increase a specific surface area (surface area capable of reacting per unit sample) of a sample. In addition, a shutoff valve (31, 32) is provided before and after an analyzer to raise internal pressure of the coil reactor. Therefore, it is possible to perform rapid analysis with a small amount of the sample while maintaining a high oxidation rate at a low reaction temperature.
