FMCW FMCW radar interference cancellation algorithm for automotive vehicle

An interference occurs due to a radar signal transmitted by other vehicles in a situation using a radar for a vehicle. An interference signal can threaten safety of the vehicle by occurring an error in estimating a velocity and a distance to a target object. Accordingly, an interference signal cancellation technology is required for the radar for a vehicle. According to the present invention, a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar for a vehicle finds a section in which an interference occurs by verifying an interference pattern when an interference signal derived by other vehicles interferes with an original signal. Since the interference signal has smaller signal attenuation than that of the original signal, the interference signal has the high signal intensity and has a high frequency component due to characteristics of the interference signal. Therefore, the section in which the interference occurs can be found by comparing signals received in the radar for each cycle of a time sample.
