The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for tracking a maximum power point using compensated incremental conductance which can maximize maximum power point tracking performance. According to embodiments of the present invention, the apparatus for tracking a maximum power point using compensated incremental conductance comprises: a function calculation unit to receive a terminal voltage and an output current measured for a solar panel, and calculate a peak-power evaluation function with the inputted terminal voltage and output current as parameters; an error calculation unit to use the calculated peak-power evaluation function and a preset peak-power evaluation reference value to calculate an error signal; a digital compensation unit to apply preset digital filtering to the calculated error signal, and update a duty signal in accordance with the digitally filtered error signal; and a tracking control unit to use the updated duty signal to control tracking of a maximum power point.
