The present invention relates to a method for providing information necessary for diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease using a methylation marker identified by an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS), and a composition, kit, and nucleic acid chip for diagnosing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The method comprises the steps of: separating DNA from a sample taken from a subject; and detecting methylation of at least one gene selected from DIP2C, CTU2, USP36, ZNF516, KLK10, and CPT1B from the DNA.
