The present invention provides a machining process discrimination system using numerical control (NC) data and a method thereof to determine and output a type of a machining process such as roughing, centering, finishing, facing, pocket, and hole, and a process parameter based on a result of learning through a neural network algorithm by inputting data of X, Y, Z coordinate values, rotation axis, G code, M code, feed, dwell, and RPM to the neural network algorithm in an NC code generated from machining conditions input by an operator. The machining process discrimination system comprises: an input unit receiving the NC code generated according to shape information and machining conditions corresponding to the process type selected by a user; a data processing unit learning and processing the input NC code through the neural network algorithm to determine a type of a machining process and a process parameter; and an output unit outputting the determined type of the machining process or the determined parameter of the machining process into voice or screen. According to the present invention, through the process discrimination system using an NC program, a novice operator can check and modify the fitness of the currently created machining conditions, and recommend the machining conditions by reflecting material conditions.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
