The present invention relates to a use of an API5 protein for inducing maturation of immature dendritic cells, and more specifically, to a composition for inducing maturation of dendritic cells containing API5 as an active ingredient, and a cancer vaccine or a cancer therapeutic agent containing dendritic cells matured thereby, wherein the API5 protein binds to toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) of immature dendritic cells to induce maturation of the dendritic cells, and the dendritic cells matured accordingly can produce CD8+ T cells specific to cancer antigens when stimulated by cancer antigens, thereby exhibiting tumor growth inhibition and cancer treatment effects. Also, dendritic cells matured by APAP5 of the present invention can produce memory T cells specific to cancer antigens when stimulated by cancer antigens, thereby exhibiting a cancer prevention effect.
