The present invention relates to a method for automatically aiming a target of a missile by using a thermal image and a missile launch simulation method using the same. With the present invention, missile aiming can be facilitated by means of a thermal imaging apparatus of a missile to be launched and an image processing technique. A guided missile launching simulator is realized by an automatic target aiming method for a missile using a thermal image, and thus the present invention can be used in a user′s missile operation training. The automatic missile target aiming method automatically aims a target in a screen before a person on board launches the missile toward the target. The present invention includes a gray scaling step in which an image is acquired from the thermal imaging apparatus of the missile and then the acquired image is converted into a black-and-white image, a first correction step in which the black-and-white image obtained in the gray scaling step is corrected by means of morphology operation, a second correction step in which histogram smoothing is performed on the image corrected in the correction step, an extraction step in which a pixel of a predetermined or more brightness is extracted from the image obtained in the second correction step, and a first control step in which control is performed such that the pixel positioned within a predetermined distance from the center in the image extracted in the extraction step is positioned at the center of the image or the sighting bar displayed on the screen is positioned at the target.
