Disclosed are a hidden markov model (HMM)-based method and system for recognizing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sound using a mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) technique in practical noise environment. The method may comprise the steps of: extracting a feature vector related to a sound signal of an UAV based on a MFCC technique in an environment where noise exists; learning a HMM model based on a learning data set generated based on the extracted feature vector; and recognizing the sound signal corresponding to the UAV based on the learned HMM model for an inputted sound signal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
