In a smart auto disinfection apparatus and an auto disinfection method using the same, the smart auto disinfection apparatus includes a sterilizing unit, a sensing unit, a head part, a body part, and a control part. The sterilizing unit irradiates ultraviolet rays to sterilize contaminants in a space to be disinfected. The sensing unit senses a degree of contamination of a specific region based on a spectrum of reflected light. The head part includes the sterilizing unit and a head frame on which the sensing unit is mounted, and is rotatable in all directions. The body part, where the head part is fixed, is driven by a driving part. The control part controls the driving part so that the body part avoids obstacles and runs autonomously in the space to be disinfected.
