The present invention relates to a system to improve control performance of a numeric controller of a machine tool using a lookahead algorithm, and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the system comprises: a first calculation unit to calculate a gcode block transmission time which is a time required for transmitting and storing one gcode block to and in a ring buffer of a second controller of a numeric controller of a machine tool; a second calculation unit to calculate a gcode block erasing time which is a time required for the second controller to control an object to be controlled by predetermined motion and erase the corresponding gcode block; a selection unit to compare the gcode block transmission time with the gcode block erasing time to select a gcode block having a trajectory causing spacing of the ring buffer; and a target speed correction unit to recalculate and correct a target speed included in the corresponding gcode block to make the gcode block erasing time get bigger than the gcode block transmission time with respect to the selected gcode block. Accordingly, the system can prevent a gcode block stored in a ring buffer from being erased before the second controller receives a next gcode block.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
