In a mode division multiplexing optical transmission system, a method for compensating for a mode coupling generated in a channel by using a digital optical conjugation technique is disclosed. The present invention provides a mode division multiplexing optical transmission system based on a digital optical conjugation which comprises: a single-wavelength light and wavefront detector of which each mode is transmitted to a channel wherein the single-wavelength light and wavefront detector is required for detecting a distorted wavefront; a wavefront modulator modulating a wavefront by using the detected wavefront; a mode multiplexer and a mode inverse multiplexer required for mode division multiplexing and mode division inverse multiplexing; and optical transmitters and optical receivers.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
