The present invention relates to a Haemaphysalis longicorni avoiding composition, and more specifically, to a Haemaphysalis longicorni avoiding composition comprising an essential oil. The Haemaphysalis longicorni avoiding composition comprises (a) a Zanthoxylum piperitum extract or (b) an essential oil selected from the group consisting of Eucalyptus, Citronella, Lemongrass, Palmarosa, Lavender Bulgarian, Cinnamon, Camphor, Myrrh, Peppermint, and Clove bud. According to the present invention, the Zanthoxylum piperitum extract or the essential oil not only is harmless to the human body and the environment, but also has an excellent Haemaphysalis longicorni avoiding effect. Therefore, the Zanthoxylum piperitum extract or the essential oil can prevent Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS) of which a preventive vaccine or an antiviral agent has not been developed till now.
