A tooth implant includes a body and a threaded surface. The body has an upper portion, a middle portion, and a lower portion. The upper portion of the body includes a generally cylindrical region. The lower portion of the body generally includes an inward tapered region. The middle portion of the body includes an outwardly extending bulge. The maximum outer diameter of the expanding portion is larger than (i) the maximum outer diameter of the upper portion and (ii) the maximum outer diameter of the lower portion. The threaded surface is on the body at least in the upper portion of the body, the bulge, and the lower portion of the body.
