The present invention relates to a method for providing escrow service for remittance based payment, and a server for conducting the same. The method comprises: a step of receiving an escrow request containing information for transaction amount, a buyer account, and a seller account from a first terminal; a step of comparing payable amount from the buyer account and the transaction amount; a step of setting suspension of payment for some amount of the payable amount from the buyer account corresponding to the transaction amount when the payable amount from the buyer account is larger than the transaction amount; a step of delivering escrow setting information for the transaction amount to a second terminal; and a step of transferring the transaction amount from the buyer account to the seller account after releasing the suspension of payment for some amount corresponding to the transaction amount when conditions for a transaction between a buyer and a seller are implemented.
