The present invention relates to a method for calculating trace gas density from a 2-D CCD aircraft payload using a PCA method, which comprises: a first step of setting calculated gas in the atmosphere and wavelength bands; a second step of inputting observation data including pixel latitude and longitude of the ground and radiance of an aircraft path, to a computer with respect to the calculated gas and wavelength bands set in the first step; a third step of searching for a region having the lowest density of the calculated gas among the data input in the second step; a fourth step of performing principal component analysis (PCA) on data searched in the third step; a fifth step of outputting a principal component from the fourth step; a sixth step of calculating a forward model equation coefficient using the principal component output in the fifth step; a seventh step of outputting a slant column density of the calculated gas using the coefficient calculated in the sixth step; an eighth step of determining whether the slant column density output in the seventh step converges on a predetermined value; a ninth step of dividing converged slant column density into an air mass factor when it is determined that the slant column density converges on a predetermined value; and a tenth step of outputting vertical column density of the calculated gas from the ninth step.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
