Disclosed are a method and system for calculating a local climate type for urban micrometeorology and microclimate environment management. The system comprises: an urban geographic information obtaining unit obtaining a numerical building map, land cover data, and satellite imagery data of a target area including a city; a grid-based ground surface features classification unit classifying grid-based ground surface features for a predetermined target area based on the numerical building map and land cover data; and a local climate typing unit generating a city ground surface structure combined from a numerical building and biosphere model for each of classification area classified by the grid-based ground surface features classification unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
