An embodiment of the present invention relates to an HILS development system of an ESS and an operation method of an ESS using the same, which can develop the HILS of the ESS and verify and develop design capacity through a proof data simulation. To this end, disclosed is the HILS development system of the ESS and the operation method of the ESS using the same, wherein the system comprises: a simulation unit outputting required power, current and SOC information, and receiving acquired power, current and SOC to perform a predetermined simulation operation; a real time operating unit providing the power, current and SOC information required by the simulation unit and providing the acquired power, current and SOC information to the simulation unit; a power supply unit receiving a control command from the real time operating unit and providing a monitoring signal; an electric load receiving a control command from the real time operating unit and providing a monitoring signal; and a battery module receiving power from the power supply unit to be charged and discharge power to the electric load.
