The present invention provides a diagnostic kit and a diagnostic composition for diabetic macular edema, a method for providing information for diagnosis, a screening method for therapeutic agents, and a composition for prevention or treatment thereof. Due to the present invention, the diagnosis of diabetic macular edema is expected to be possible, and controlling the expression and activity of sCD14, which is a marker of the present invention, is expected to make the development of therapeutic agents for diabetic macular edema possible.
