The present invention relates to a ferritic stainless steel for an automotive exhaust system having an excellent corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid and a method for manufacturing the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ferritic stainless steel comprises: a stainless steel basic material which includes: over 0 and 0.01 wt% or lower of C, 0.1-0.5 wt% of Si, over 0 and 0.5 wt% or lower of Mn, over 0 and 0.035 wt% or lower of P, over 0 and 0.01 wt% or lower of S, 11-18 wt% of Cr, 0.15-0.5 wt% of Ti, over 0 and 0.013 wt% or lower of N, 0.05-0.5 wt% of stibium (Sb), and residual Fe and other unavoidable impurities; an aluminum plating layer formed on the stainless steel basic material; and a plating compound which includes Al17Fe32Mn0.8Si2 (Aluminum Iron Manganese Silicon) on an interface between the stainless steel basic material and the aluminum plating layer.
