GFSK METHOD FOR SOFT DECISION DEMODULATION OF GFSK SIGNAL WITH CHANNEL CODING APPLIED AND RECEIVING APPARATUS USING THE METHOD

The present invention relates to a method for soft decision demodulation of a GFSK signal with channel coding applied thereto, which comprises the steps of: extracting an average value of the sizes of the signals; comparing the extracted average value with at least one predetermined reference value to determine a position of a valid bit; and extracting the valid bit from an output of a frequency discriminator based on the determined position of the valid bit. According to the present invention, a bit string with a short length is used as an input of a Viterbi decoder by varying a bit extraction position according to the size of the received signal with respect to an output of the frequency discriminator of the GFSK signal to which the channel coding is applied, thereby implementing a low-complexity soft-decision demodulator and receiver while minimizing signal distortion or loss of information.
