Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for predicting a traffic accident risk based on a driving pattern of a driver. The method for predicting a traffic accident risk based on a driving pattern of a driver comprises the steps of: receiving location information of a first driver from a user terminal of the first driver; referring to the location information of the first driver and determining whether a location of the first user is adjacent to a predetermined accident prediction point; and transmitting a warning message indicating the possibility of a traffic accident to the user terminal, if the location of the first user is determined to be adjacent to the point.
