Provided are an electronic device for joint transmission and a control method thereof. The control method of the electronic device includes: a step of exploring for a plurality of AP; a step of determining a modulation & coding scheme (MCS) for data transmission based on the signal intensity of at least two of the AP, and determining the two AP as candidate AP for joint transmission by comparing joint transmission gain time according to the determined MCS with synchronization time required for the two AP to execute joint transmission; a step of transmitting information about the determined candidate AP to an AP control device; and a step of conducting data communication with joint AP determined among the determined candidate AP to execute joint transmission through the AP control device.
