The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition having antioxidant and whitening effects, comprising an extract of Ajuga spectabilis as an active ingredient. More specifically, the cosmetic composition is based on the DPPH radical scavenging ability and tyrosinase inhibitory activities that the extract of Ajuga spectabilis has. The cosmetic composition has excellent DPPH radical scavenging ability and tyrosinase inhibitory activities and is simple to produce, and thus is cost-effective.
