The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for estimating success rate of surgery before operating surgery for treating obstructive sleep apnea. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus may include: a tonsil size level determination unit which determines tonsil size level by considering visibility of tonsil based on at least one of tonsil size, pharynx area, tonsil pillar and palatine uvula; a palatal tongue position level determination unit which determines palatal tongue position level by considering visibility of any one among palate, the tonsil, the palatine uvula and the tonsil pillar; a calculation unit which calculates success rate of surgery by using at least one among the determined tonsil size level, the determined palatal tongue position level and age; and an estimation unit which estimates surgery result based on the calculated success rate of surgery.
