The present invention relates to a method for providing information for diagnosing single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) present on the Y chromosome, including a) a step of separating DNA from a sample; b) a step of amplifying, by using PCR, a Y chromosome haplogroup marker gene fragment using each primer pair from the DNA; and c) a PCR-reverse blot hybridization step of hybridizing a solid support to which an oligomeric probe for detecting the Y chromosome haplogroup marker gene is attached and the PCR amplification product obtained in step b). The present invention also relates to a composition and/or kit thereof for use in the method.
