The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for rolling reduction based on an anti-rolling pendulum using an electromagnetic force which apply an anti-rolling pendulum method, use an electromagnetic force generation device to supply external power to allow continuous pendulum motion, and adjust a direction and an intensity of a current by the electromagnetic force generation device to control a period and a phase difference of a pendulum to reduce rolling in response to periods of various waves. The apparatus for rolling reduction based on an anti-rolling pendulum using an electromagnetic force comprises: a structure which includes a rail, and is bent into an arc shape; a pair of conducting wires arranged on an upper end of the rail to be separated from each other to face each other; a heavy object of a metallic material to electrically come in contact with the pair of conducting wires and move on the rail; a power source to apply a current to the conducting wires; a rolling period sensor mounted on the structure to measure a physical quantity to calculate a rolling period of a ship; a heavy object period sensor embedded in the heavy object to measure a physical quantity to calculate a period of the heavy object; and a control unit to receive the measured physical quantity from the rolling period sensor to calculate the rolling period, receive the measured physical quantity from the heavy object period sensor to calculate the period of the heavy object, and compare both periods to calculate a level and a direction of a current to be applied to the power source to control the power source.
