The present invention relates to a catalyst including a diimine ligand-coordinated transition metal complex and a method for arylation through carbon-hydrogen conjugation activation or carbon-carbon cross coupling using the catalyst. According to the present invention, carbon-hydrogen arylation showing high turnover number compared to existing catalysts can be performed by using the catalyst in which a ligand with high steric hindrance is coordinated to a transition metal (for example, palladium) through a diimine ligand structure which is capable of controlling three-dimensional properties.
