3D ROBUST STRUCTURED-LIGHT PATTERNS FOR 3D CAMERA SYSTEM

The present invention relates to structured-light patterns for a structured light system comprising a basic light pattern including lines of sub patterns expanded in a first direction. Each of the subpatterns is adjacent to at least one other subpattern, is different from other sub patterns and comprises N dots in sub-lines and N dots in sub-rows. N is an integer. Each dot has the same size. Each sub-line is expanded in the first direction. Each sub-row is expanded in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each of the subpatterns additionally comprises dots of basic light patterns arranged in sub rows. The dots of basic light patterns arranged in sub-rows are offset in the second direction from dots of basic light patterns arranged in adjacent sub-rows. The size of each subpattern of the basic light patterns is larger by the expansion coefficient than the size of each subpattern in the first direction.
