Disclosed is an electronic device capable of differently controlling a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor for each user and acquiring biometric information from one PPG signal measurement. According to the present invention, the electronic device comprises: the PPG sensor including a light emitter receiving current in a predetermined range and emitting an optical signal corresponding to the applied current and a light detector applying the received optical signal to one of a plurality of gain values to amplify the optical signal; a memory for storing a plurality of PPG model sets including a current value corresponding to the gain values and PPG level data corresponding to the current value; and at least one processor electrically connected to the PPG sensor and memory.
