The present invention relates to a method for compressing TCP/IP (UDP) packet data (payload), to provide a compression effect of one byte per k byte, and a device thereof. According to the present invention, when all 256 kinds of byte values in a range of 0 to 255 appear at first while raw data is sequentially checked from the first element to a next element, the byte values are separated and called k bytes. When k-1 bytes including 255 kinds of byte values excluding one byte element last added at 256^th time is loaded in a UDP packet to be transmitted from a source to a destination, thereby providing a compression effect of one byte per k byte.
