According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is an artificial intelligence device for managing operation of an artificial intelligence system. The artificial intelligence device comprises: a communication unit configured to receive state information from each of at least one member artificial intelligence device included in the artificial intelligence system; a memory storing device information for each of the at least one member artificial intelligence device; and a processor configured to determine a target member artificial intelligence device to perform a control command when acquiring the control command of a user, transmit the control command to the target member artificial intelligence device if the target member artificial intelligence device can perform the control command, and output a response that the target member artificial intelligence device cannot perform the control command if the target member artificial intelligence device is unable to perform the control command.
