According to an aspect of the present invention, disclosed is a VR device control method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the VR device control method comprises the following steps: receiving a 360 video bitstream; extracting a sub-bitstream included in the 360 video bitstream, wherein the sub-bitstream includes a region of interest (ROI) with regard to the 360 video bitstream; generating recovery data with regard to the ROI from the sub-bitstream; remapping the recovery data with regard to the ROI based on signaling information to generate thumbnail data. According to an aspect of the present invention, disclosed is a VR device control method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the VR device control method comprises the steps of: receiving a 360 video bitstream; extracting a sub-bitstream included in the 360 video bitstream, wherein the sub-bitstream includes a region of interest (ROI) with regard to the 360 video bitstream; generating recovery data with regard to the ROI from the sub-bitstream; remapping the recovery data with regard to the ROI based on signaling information to generate thumbnail data.
