The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a Hwang Geum Dan, which is processed sulfur for removing sulfur toxic components and having a high therapeutic effect on arthritis. More specifically, a sulfur processing method comprising steps of repeating melting and solidifying sulfur, and then immersing the same in water, followed by aging in underground, significantly reduces heavy metals in sulfur and the processed sulfur manufactured by the method exhibits a significant arthritis therapeutic effect. Therefore, the method can be usefully used not only for a method for removing heavy metals in sulfur, but also for the method for manufacturing processed sulfur having the significant arthritis therapeutic effect.
