Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to coated articles having a low-E coating comprising at least one infrared (IR) reflecting layer of silver doped with a material such as SiAl, SiZn, or SiZnCu. The IR reflecting layer (s) is part of a Roy coating and may be interposed between at least transparent dielectric layers. For example, the silver-based IR reflecting layer doped in such a manner has improved corrosion and chemical durability, and improved stability of this layer and the entire coating, while maintaining excellent optical properties compared to the undoped Ag IR reflecting layer, It provides for example reduced haze upon selective heat treatment (HT).
