摘要

The present invention relates to a system for providing massive multi VOD streaming services based on a distributed filed system and a providing method thereof. The method for providing massive multi VOD streaming services using massive multi VOD streaming service providing system based on distributed file systems (DFS) comprises the steps of: allowing a client terminal to access a streaming server; when receiving a request for providing a media file from the connected client terminal, allowing the streaming server to use a database having information on whether to have media files to search whether the media file is stored or not; if the media file is not stored, allowing the streaming server to request the media file to a connected peer streaming server; if the media file is not stored in the peer streaming server, allowing the streaming server to request the media file to a main storage of a DFS; and allowing the streaming server to receive the media file from the main storage and transmit the same to the client terminal. According to the present invention, the method shares information between streaming servers and transmits a media file requested from a client terminal at the streaming server, thereby reducing loads applied to the main storage of the distributed file system. Accordingly, the media file transmission is stably performed and thus, user satisfaction is improved.
