The present invention relates to a surface coating composition comprising a fucoidan catechol conjugate and a coating method using the same and, more specifically, to a surface coating composition which can efficiently perform the surface coating capable of preventing the adsorption of bacteria, viruses, or the like using the fucoidan catechol conjugate and transition metal salt, and to a surface coating method using the same.
