According to an embodiment of the present invention, a routing device includes: a future energy consumption (FEC) calculation part calculating an FEC, which is routing metric, by considering transmission energy per packet, which is energy averagely consumed to transmit the link quality of a sensor node, a work load, and one packet; a DIO message embedding part setting a rank of the sensor node based on the FEC, and embedding the rank, the FEC, and residual energy information of the sensor node in a DODAG information object (DIO) message; and a DIO message transmitting part transmitting the DIO message to neighboring nodes under the control of a trickle timer. Thus, the present invention is capable of minimizing the energy consumption of the whole network system.
