The present invention relates to a virtual money generation system through electronic commerce in an open market and a method thereof. The virtual money generation system through electronic commerce in an open market comprises: an open market operation server providing an electronic money mining process which mines electronic money available in an open market through electronic commerce in the open market; and a virtual money conversion server converting the electronic money into a predetermined virtual money which can be traded in a virtual money transaction server. The open market operation server allows the electronic commerce in the open market through a buyer terminal and provides the electronic money to the buyer terminal through the electronic money mining process during an electronic commerce process. The virtual money conversion server converts the electronic money of the buyer terminal into the virtual money in accordance with a request of the buyer terminal.
